Composite Or Porcelain, Which Veneers Should You Choose?

Dental veneers are thin shells made of various materials that match the natural tooth colour. They are placed over the front surfaces of teeth and designed to blend your natural teeth and improve your smile’s appearance by masking flaws such as stains, chips, gaps, etc.

There are mainly two types of veneers composite veneers and porcelain veneers (both are made from tooth-coloured materials). Although both materials, composite and porcelain work well in creating beautiful veneers, they have some distinct differences. Listed below are some things you should know about each type of material before having your dental veneers made.

Composite Resin Veneers

Composite resin is an artificial composite material that looks like natural teeth. This type of veneer can be shaped to fit right over your teeth and is bonded in place with a unique dental adhesive. However, composite resin veneers are cheaper in comparison to porcelain veneers and can be stained, chipped or cracked if you’re not careful with them.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are prepared using thin porcelain pieces that are custom-made to fit over your teeth. Porcelain is a solid material that resists staining and chipping better than composite resin. It also looks more like natural teeth than composite resin does. As a result, porcelain veneers usually cost more than composite resin veneers.

When it comes to choosing veneers, there are a few things you’ll need to take into account. You’ll need to decide whether you want composite or porcelain veneers, and you’ll also need to choose a dentist who is skilled in providing these treatments.

Composite veneers are made of a resin material bonded to the teeth. They are usually less expensive than porcelain veneers, and they can be used to correct a wide range of dental problems. Composite veneers can also be coloured to match the patient’s teeth, making them a popular choice for people who want to improve their smile but don’t want the expense of porcelain veneers.

On the other hand, Porcelain veneers are made of ceramic material, and they are more expensive than composite veneers. However, they are also more durable and look more natural than composite veneers. Therefore, if you want to achieve a perfect smile, then porcelain veneers are probably the best option for you.

Advantages of Composite Veneers:

-They are less expensive than porcelain veneers.

-They can be used to correct a wide range of dental problems.

-They can be coloured to match the patient’s teeth.

Advantages of Porcelain Veneers:

-They are more durable than composite veneers.

-They look more natural than composite veneers.

-They can achieve a perfect smile.

So, which type of veneer should you choose?

If you want a cheap and effective way to improve your smile, composite veneers are a good option. However, if you want good results, porcelain veneers are the way to go.

Also, remember that choosing between composite and porcelain veneers is a personal decision, and there is no right or wrong answer. It all depends on your individual needs and budget. So first, talk to your dentist about the different options available to you, and ask for their professional advice on which type of veneers would be best suited to your needs. Then, take your time to look around and compare different prices until you find a dental clinic that offers the type of veneers you need at an affordable price.
